How to Change Your Domain Nameservers Print

  • 0

???? What are Nameservers?

Nameservers connect your domain name to your website and email services.

They tell the Internet:

“Where should this domain point?”

Without correct nameservers, your website and emails will not work.

???? Why Would I Change My Nameservers?

You may need to change your nameservers if:

  • You moved your website to a new hosting provider

  • You are using Cloudflare

  • You are using a VPS or dedicated server

  • You want to use custom/private nameservers

  • Your hosting provider gave you new DNS servers

???? Before You Start

Make sure:

  • Your new hosting account is active

  • The new DNS servers are correct

  • Your website files are already uploaded

Example of nameservers:

ns1.yourhost.com
ns2.yourhost.com
